As a former political scientist who studied social movements around the world, I have a deep admiration for people who take to the streets to raise their voices against their own oppression and in solidarity with those who are marginalized and oppressed. Although some people associate the raised fist with a particular movement, it’s been used by various (and sometimes opposing) groups and causes for hundreds of years. I originally carved this fist for a dear friend of mine who has never been afraid to speak her mind, then I realized there are a lot of people out there who might enjoy wearing one, myself included! To all the badasses out there - this fist is for you.
